Mike Canino is a Nutrition Coach for Move The Needle. He has been assisting people in reaching their fitness and nutrition goals for just over 5 years! He has worked with individuals from all walks of life! He’s worked with individuals looking to lose some weight and revitalize their lives as well as athletes who want to increase their performance on the field/court!
After making a transformation from being very overweight as a child, Mike feels it is important for him to provide guidance for others who are looking to make a change in their lives.
Mike played 4 years of collegiate baseball at the DIII level, at his alma mater, Utica College. During that time he also competed in Olympic weightlifting at the national level. Upon completing his athletic career, he decided to make a shift in his focus. Mike is currently completing his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Marist College in Poughkeepsie. Concurrently, he is pushing his efforts towards working with others to elicit the changes they wish to see in their body composition and performance.
In 2019, Mike opened up his own nutrition/performance coaching business “MC Nutrition & Performance”. Not long after, Mike jumped on board to join the crew at Move The Needle.
His approach towards nutrition is one that puts a large emphasis on balance. Through the proper implementation of positive eating habits that fit best for the individual he is working with, he believes that change can not only occur in the short term but be maintained and continued over the long term!
